What did you do today!?
2, You talked about the different layers of the earth,
3. You talked about Pangaea, Mantle Convection, and the Continental Drift.
4. You worked on completing the "Investigating the Earth's Crustal Plates" lab (due tomorrow)
LayersThe name "Pangaea/Pangea" is derived from Ancient Greek pan (πᾶν, "all, entire, whole") andGaia (Γαῖα, "Mother Earth, land")
Pangaea or Pangea ( /pænˈdʒiːə/[1]) was a supercontinent that existed during the latePaleozoic and early Mesozoic eras.[2][3] It assembled from earlier continental units approximately 335 million years ago, and it began to break apart about 175 million years ago.[4] In contrast to the present Earth and its distribution of continental mass, much of Pangaea was in the Southern Hemisphere and surrounded by a super ocean, Panthalassa. Pangaea was the most recent super continent to have existed and the first to be reconstructed by geologists.

Layers of the Earth:
1. Crust - (consists of solid matter (rocks)
A. Oceanic (denser -compressed by thee weight of the water) 5-10 km thick
B. Continental ( less dense) -10-30 km thick
2. Mantle (consist is a liquid, low viscocity e.g. glue)
Convection Current -a current that results from hot substances rising up and cool substances sinking down
3. Core
A. Liquid -(outer core)
B. Solid -(inner core) -consists of Iron and Nickel (give the Earth its magnetic filed)

What did you do today!?
1. We introduced "The Ring of Fire" -5 minutes (explain this definition to your partner)
The Ring of Fire, also referred to as the Circum-Pacific Belt, is a path along the Pacific Ocean characterized by active volcanoes and frequent earthquakes. The majority of Earth’s volcanoes and earthquakes take place along the Ring of Fire
2. You reviewed the Earth's Crustal Plates and discussed the occurrence of tectonic activities along these boundaries. You watched a video on the Ring of Fire. 8 minutes (After the video ASK YOUR PARTNER TWO QUESTIONS about it)
3. In groups, you were given one of the 6 Plate Boundaries. You were asked to draw a diagram and answer questions related to that plate boundary. You drew your diagrams on the board and presented to the class.
