1. You looked at some images of disappearing glaciers from around the world.
2. You discussed some of the implications associated with our melting glaciers (see level rise, animal loss, climate refugees)
3. You watched VICE: Our Rising Oceans
4. You discussed some questions raised during the video.
Task 1 - 15 minutes Google images of " Disappearing Glaciers" and look at a few side by side photos (minimum 5). Click on teh photos and go to the websites that describe the photos. gather some information ( Where the site is, when were the photos taken, what is happening).
After having gathered information present a story to your partner in character: (your story must be at least 3 minutes long)
A. You are an environmentalist
B. Your partner is a member of the public
Then switch roles
Task 2 (30 minutes) Watch the youtube short intro to "Chasing Ice" then Go to THIS WEBSITE. It answers some very important questions like this one:
What are the impacts of glacier loss, other than losing an aesthetic landscape feature?
Browse the website and click on as many questions (and read the answers) as possible.
Prepare an oral presentation to your partner. The topic is: "Implications of melting Glaciers on our Planet" (your presentation must contain information and facts you learnt from the website and last at least 3 minutes)
Task 4. Begin watching VICE: Our Rising oceans episode
